Exodus 12:21-28 First Lesson
21. Then Moses called all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go, select lambs for your families, and slaughter the passover lamb.
22. Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood in the basin. None of you shall go outside the door of your house until morning.
23. For the Lord will pass through to strike down the Egyptians; when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over that door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you down.
24. You shall observe this rite as a perpetual ordinance for you and your children.
25. When you come to the land that the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this observance.
26. And when your children ask you, ‘What do you mean by this observance?’
27. you shall say, ‘It is the passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt, when he struck down the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” And the people bowed down and worshiped.
28. The Israelites went and did just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron. The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn

Acts 2:42-47 Second Lesson
42. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Life among the Believers
43. Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles.
44. All who believed were together and had all things in common;
45. they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
46. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts,
47. praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

1 Corinthians 11:23-30 Epistle
23. For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread,
24. and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
25. In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
26. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Partaking of the Supper Unworthily
27. Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be answerable for the body and blood of the Lord.
28. Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29. For all who eat and drink without discerning the body, eat and drink judgment against themselves.
30. For this reason many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.

Matthew 26:26-29 Gospel
26. While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
27. Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you,
28. for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
29. I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
