The Golden Jubilee Valedictory of Houston Trinity Mar Thoma Church took place on August 10, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the parish. The event began with a procession at 4:30 PM, followed by a public meeting at 5:00 PM in the church, which was presided over by Vicar Rev. Sam K. Easow. The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa, who arrived in Houston on August 9, delivered the inaugural speech, shared his vision for the parish and diocese, and released the special Golden Jubilee Souvenir. Achens from various Houston Parishes and dignitaries from different walks of life were also present.Pioneer members of the parish were honored during the event, and Mr. Shajan George, the Jubilee Convenor, presented the Jubilee report. The parish engaged in various mission activities locally and in India, including the construction of seven houses under the Abhayam project, building a chappal in India, providing marriage aid, medical aid, and higher education support.Mr.Thomas Mathew welcomed the gathering and Mr.Jojy Jacob proposed the vote of thanks.
On August 11, Thirumeni celebrated the Holy Communion Service at 8:30 AM, which included a dedication service for 22 first communicants. Following the service, the 50th Parish Day meeting was held, with Mr. T.A. Mathew, Vice President, delivering the welcome address and Mr. Thomas Mathew (Jeeemon), Parish Secretary, presenting the report. The meeting also featured celebrations for the 71st birthday of Paulose Thirumani and the 80th birthday of Rev. Dr. Philip Varghese.
Rev. Oommen Samuel, Rev. Jeevan John, Rev. Larry Varghese, and Diocesan Treasurer Mr. George P. Babu were in attendance. The parish recognized individuals who had reached significant milestones, including those who had completed 70 years, those with 50 years of family life, and those with notable academic achievements. The parish was awarded the Best Parish accolade, and special plaques were presented to Mr. Joseph George Thadathil and Mr. Rajan Geevarghese, recognized as Parish Messenger Promoters.Mrs.Shiny George proposed the vote of thanks.
