The Mar Thoma Family Conference 2025

 

 

The 35th Family Conference of the Diocese of North America of the Mar Thoma Church was held from July 3–6 at the Marriott Melville, Long Island. The theme for this year’s conference was “Family: Faithscape.”

Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa inaugurated the conference and emphasized that families, as the basic unit of society, should be the platform for faith formation. Tirumeni reminded parents of their role as builders of spiritual altars within the family.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Seraphim Episcopa was the main speaker and led the Holy Communion on the final day, co-celebrated by Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa.

The conference served as a space for fellowship and renewal. Participants engaged in Bible studies, youth and children’s programs, and cultural activities. Key sessions were led by Dr. P. C. Mathew and Mrs. Ciby Mathew, Co-founders and National Executive Directors of Urban India Ministries, addressing issues of faith, family values, and modern-day challenges.

Special sessions for children and youth were led by Mr. Tom Philip (Lay Chaplain), Dr. Susan Thomas (Clinical Social Worker), Dr. Shiby Abraham (Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist), and Mrs. Betsy Chacko (Clinical Social Worker). Bible studies were led by Rev. Thomas B., Rev. Dennis Abraham, and Rev. Rejin Raj. A session on health and wellness was led by Dr. Sheena Elizabeth John.

Worship services during the conference were conducted by teams from the North-East, South-East, and South-West regions of the Diocese.

Rev. Joel Samuel Thomas, Diocesan Secretary and Mr. George Babu, Diocesan Treasurer, coordinated all the arrangements of the event. The event was hosted by the Mar Thoma Northeast Regional Activity Committee. Rev. Pramod Zachariah served as Vice President, Mr. Thomas Jacob as General Convener, Mr. Kurien Thomas as Treasurer, Mr. Samuel K. Samuel coordinated registration, and Mr. C.V. Simonkutty oversaw the souvenir.
